A very big congratulations to Peter Lik for recently selling the most expensive photograph of all time. Period. The image, "Phantom" is a black and white version of another famous work "Ghost". Lik has done a phenomenal job brining landscape and nature photography into the public sphere and for proving that the public is willing to value landscape photography just as any other art. FOTOfusion 2015 was incredible as always. I love presenting at FOTOfusion for the camaraderie as well as the thinktank atmosphere of the place. This year I taught a class on night photography and showed my students how to find the Milky Way visually in the sky. It was really nice catching up with friends and fellow amazing shooters such as Vincent Versace, Lewis Kemper, Jim Swallow, Shane Srogi, Lee Varis, Tom Lopez, and SOO many more. By the way, if you are unfamiliar with the work of any of the photographers I just mentioned, do yourself a favor and look them up. If you missed FOTOfuion this year and you are a photographer (of whatever level!) you missed out on an amazing opportunity to grow regardless of chosen discipline. FOTOfusion 2016 is 11 months away so make sure you sign up and I'll see you there!
